Scope
A global life sciences organisation partnered with Exiom to introduce eCommerce capabilities by implementing Oracle Commerce Cloud (OCC) to fully integrate with their existing global JDE instance.
Commerce scenarios implemented
- New Direct to Consumer (B2C) Go to market channel introduced as part of a strategy to grow the business.
- Existing Business to Business (B2B) customers were granted access to a site for order self-service instead of mailing orders to Customer Services for manual entry to JDE.
- Free of charge sample and warranty orders initiated from the CRM. The objective was to have all revenue and free of charge orders flowing through a single ‘pipe’ to JDE for fulfilment (vs integrating CRM directly with JDE and creating another set of integrations to manage and reconcile.
- Site created within OCC to allow Health Care professionals (HCP’s) to request sample orders of product (subject to a monthly allocation and order approval within JDE).
Fully integrated end to end business process

Result
The integrated solution delivered several benefits to the organisation, including:
- Platform ready for expansion of the business into the B2C go to market channel
- B2B customers migrated to self-service, enabling them to have full visibility of the orders through the process
- Customer service focus switched from order entry to managing customer relationships
